I traveled to Kahurangi National Park in early 2017 during a trip to New Zealand's South Island. Nestled in the north-western corner of the island, Kahurangi is accessed by a winding drive down an old logging road. A number of walking tracks provide straightforward access to primeval native forest, gushing tannin-stained rivers, and perhaps the park's biggest drawcard, the spectacular Oparara Arch - a limestone arch 219 metres long, 79 metres wide, and 43 metres high.
